Comment choisir un ordinateur portable ? Avant de faire votre choix, interrogez-vous sur l’utilisation que vous en ferez: bureautique, multimédia et photos, jeux vidéo.
Il est important de vérifier les critères suivants. Le type d’ordinateur : pc ou mac qui utilisent des systèmes d’exploitation différents. Les Mac, ordinateurs développés par Apple, offrent une grande simplicité d’utilisation. Cependant plus de logiciels sont disponibles sur PC.
Processeur : il faut principalement veiller à la puissance et à la consommation de la batterie (qui détermine mobilité et autonomie). Pour les ordinateurs portables le processeur pourra être dit « mobile » (il utilise moins d’énergie et produit moins de chaleur).
Disque dur : la plupart des ordinateurs portables sont équipés de disque dur variant de 40 à 120 Go. Pensez à choisir cette capacité en fonction de votre usage (40 Go suffisent pour un usage bureautique, 60 à 100 Go seront nécessaires pour des fichiers photos, vidéos ou des jeux).
Mémoire vive (ou mémoire RAM) : l’ordinateur y stocke les applications et données en cours d’utilisation. La plupart des ordinateurs possèdent de base des mémoires de 512 Mo à 1 Go. Il est possible après achat d’augmenter la mémoire de son ordinateur, vérifiez pour cela les emplacements prévus pour l’ajout de nouvelles barrettes de mémoire.
Taille de l’écran : elle varie de 12 à 17 pouces (taille de la diagonale), à choisir en fonction de votre utilisation (nomade ou sédentaire).
Lecteurs et graveurs : vous trouverez selon les modèles des lecteurs DVD, des combinés lecteur DVD / graveur CD, et des combinés lecteur DVD / graveur DVD.
Carte graphique (ou adaptateur vidéo) : c’est elle qui détermine la qualité d’affichage.
Lecteur de carte mémoire : si vous souhaitez transférer les données de votre appareil photo, caméscope ou PDA sur votre ordinateur en utilisant une carte mémoire.
Autonomie : elle peut varier entre 2 et 5 heures selon les modèles, pensez également au temps de charge.
Poids : si vous êtes souvent amené à déplacer votre ordinateur, pensez aux ultras portables qui pèsent moins de 1,5 kilos.
Les connectiques : ports USB, sortie TV, sortie casque, sortie VGA/DVI…
Wifi : vérifiez si l’ordinateur dispose d’un adaptateur wifi intégré, sinon il faudra brancher une carte réseau pour vous connecter en wifi. Certains ordinateurs proposent aussi le Bluetooth.
Enfin regardez la garantie (qui peut varier de 1 à 3 ans selon les constructeurs) et les conditions de ce service après-vente.
